Tear gas, mass arrests, and righteous fury at No Kings Los Angeles.
Los Angeles, CA | 3/28/26
After the No Kings Day 3 March ended in Downtown Los Angeles, protestors peeled off for an auxiliary protest outside the Metropolitan Detention Center. The MDC has been the site of near-continuous protests since last summer; Angelenos and others taken from the surrounding areas are processed through the basement of the building before getting shipped to immigration detention facilities elsewhere in Southern California.
Protesters banged on the gates, threw water bottles and rocks, and vented their rage at the agents assembled inside the perimeter fence. Before long, federal agents tear gassed the entire crowd and pelted those assembled with pepperballs. LAPD arrived after an hour and pushed protesters down the street into a kettle, where they mass arrested over 70 before driving horses through the rest of the crowd down Temple Street. At least one person was critically injured after getting shot in the eye by feds with a pepperball, and another reportedly had their femur broken by LAPD during an arrest.
Gotta tell ya man, I'm getting pretty tired of watching my neighbors get the shit kicked out of them by the cops (feds or local). Despite this violence, Angelenos did what they do best: kept their spirits high and their righteous anger flowing.

No Kings March is wrapping up at City Hall, I peeled off to the MDC in DTLA to check in there, got a crowd of maybe 60 out here. Feds are kitted out with SRT in the front of the garage They just played their automated “dont hit the fence” message
